How It All Started – 30 Years of Willpro!
Chris’s parents founded Willpro Techniek VOF in 1995, when Chris himself was just 17 years old.
They lived in Hoogeveen and found a space in a multi-tenant business building of about 250 m² on Nieuwelandstraat in Ommen.
The official registration took place on May 1st, 1995, and by around September that year, the company was up and running. Until then, J.G. Willering had been busy purchasing and refurbishing second-hand machines. His wife handled the administration and reached out to potential customers to schedule appointments.
A fun anecdote from Chris:
“I still remember how we all helped paint the machines. In hindsight, it might not have been strictly necessary, but it shows that—then as now—we found it important that our machinery looked good.”
The very first machines Willpro purchased included two milling machines, a surface grinder, a knife grinder, and a circular saw.
